Not one to hold his tongue, the singer was acting in response to Madonna's slur on Lady Gaga's track Born This Way, which she thinks bares an uncanny resemblence to her 1989 single Express Yourself. Elton waded in to defend Gaga, the godmother to his son Zachary, when Madonna's comments over the song were brought up in a recent interview.
"Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c***...If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly...She looks like a f***ing fairground stripper. She’s been horrible to Gaga."
A back-handed compliment if ever we've heard one. When asked about Gaga's track, Madonna had boasted "I'm glad I could help her write it", ooo! Madge was working on her MDMA tour when she made the comment a month ago.
Despite Elton's loyalty to Gaga, he's had his own personal fued with the singer which spans back many years. At the GQ Awards Elton had dubbed Madge a "mime act" although the pair seemed to patch things up five years ago as they were papped hugging at a celebrity bash. Elton had said,
"This is a moment you thought you would never see."
‘Madonna. Best song???? F*** off!!!...‘Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit...Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.'
Whose side are you on, heatworld citizens?
